There’s a warmth to this place—the bartenders genuinely care, the regulars are always eager to share a laugh, and prices are refreshingly reasonable.

On summer evenings, my wife and I love grabbing a seat outside while our daughter chats up the friendly staff or dances along to whatever local band is playing live. It’s got that community feel you just can’t fake.

Vineyard Wine Bar: Best Wine Selection (Hands Down)

For special occasions—or when my wife and I can sneak away for a “grown-ups only” evening—Vineyard Wine Bar is the place.

Not everyone knows about the American Legion, but it’s honestly one of the best hidden gems around Havre de Grace. Now, it’s technically member-only, but they host regular public events to encourage membership (view events on Facebook).

We stumbled onto one last year after seeing a post on Facebook and were blown away—not just by the friendliest crowd, but by the prices (seriously, you won’t find cheaper drinks in town).

What really sets this place apart, though, is the deck. The view of the water is unbeatable. We’ve met up with friends here for community events, and our daughter always finds someone her age to hang out with. It’s the kind of place that reminds me why I love small towns so much.

The nautical-themed bar is a treat—especially when you can score a seat by the window but the view is best out on the lawn. Our daughter loves watching the boats, and they often host live music in the evenings is the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal and a cocktail (or two).

My wife swears by their mixed drink selection, and I can vouch for the whiskey sours. It’s a spot for slow, happy evenings—perfect for date night.

If you love a laid-back, dog & kid-friendly vibe, you can’t miss Market Street Brewery. From Open Mic Nights to fun pop up events, it's always a good time.

My daughter loves it here for the games (foosball and board games!), and my wife and I appreciate the marina view and the ever-changing tap selection.

They don’t serve food, but that’s just fine—outside snacks are welcome, and they often have awesome local food trucks parked out front.

We’re also big fans of how close it is to Graw Alley Artist Park.

After an afternoon exploring the murals and street art, we duck in for a pint and to watch the boats. And if your furry family member is in tow, good news: dogs are welcome!

Battery Island Brewing Company: Best Downtown Brewery Near Shopping in Havre de Grace

Battery Island Brewing Company is tiny but mighty, right in the heart of downtown. We love stopping in after doing some shopping or before heading out for pizza at La Cucina next door (our go-to is the white pizza with spinach and sausage).

Their beers and hard seltzers are always creative, and there’s a friendly vibe that makes it easy to strike up a conversation.

It’s also a great place if you’re just looking for a quick cold one in between downtown adventures, since it is centrally located within the Havre de Grace Shopping District.

Hopkins Farm Brewery

A little drive outside downtown (about ten minutes, but worth it!), Hopkins Farm Brewery is our weekend adventure spot. It’s popular with families and groups—there’s always a food truck, live music, and plenty of outdoor space for kids to run around. Our daughter loves the live bands, and we love catching up with friends under the open sky.

The view is gorgeous, especially in the golden hour before sunset. Whenever we have out-of-town guests, this is the brewery we take them to show off Maryland’s charm.
